>> South China Morning Post's Tim Cribb reviews my book The Asian Male - 1.AM. It's really a surprise how good the review was. I was glowing with happiness when I read the words. But calling me a 'master' made me feel a bit old. Haha. But then, I'm a ripe 42 as I type these words. Read the review HERE

>> South China Morning Post's Joyce Hor-Chung Lau interviewed me just prior to the release of the Asian Male book launch. It exactly what I was seeking from an interview. Joyce's professionlism and mindful questions demonstrated that she knew what she was talking about and that she was interested in more than just the cover jacket. It delve more into what the Spirit of my work was all about and my rather humble beginnings and influences back in Canada. She touched on the varied aspects of my repretoire of work (painting, drawing and photography) while also relating it back to my pains on moving away from architecture to the arts. >> 'Moonstruck' - Well in less that 2 months, here I am participating in a second group exhibition at the Venice Biennale 2005. Jeffrey du Vallier d'Aragon Aranita and Norm Ford are the organizers of this most unique 2-part exhibition that will firstly take place here in Hong Kong at Club 64 from 1 to 30 April 2005, opening April 1, 2005, 6-7 pm. The group project will then become encapsulated in a time capsule (my first ever!) and be deposited (buried, actually) in the the West Kowloon Cultural District. Furthermore, small remnants of the artwork will be contained in a smaller version of the Hong Kong capsule. This version however gets dropped off in the Venice lagoon during the Bienalle. Wah-la! (Is there going to be someone there to record this on video?) Click HERE for more details.

>> PHOTOGRAPHY AND CAMERA REVIEW. ISSUE 327 - 20 May 2004. Well, I finally made it to the cover of a local photoraphy magazine. Nothing too spectacular mind you, but neverthless a nice gesture from the editor to have my image of MARTINE posted as the cover image. Too bad though the article is written in Chinese, so I have no idea of what the writer, Mr. Farmer Lo, wrote about. Oh well. I'm sure it's fine. I've posted the written article. Just click on the cover page below.

>> HKIPP REJECTION LETTER - 10 May 2004. A few weeks ago, I decided to submit an application to the Hong Kong Instititute of Professional Photographers. I thought it could be useful in getting more exposure. I had no idea of what the parameters for selection would be. All that was required in the application was to submit 20 images. Well, I got rejected, an unsuccessful applicant. I felt a mixture of shock and wonder at what I had done wrong to be honoured with a such a decision. No explaination was given. Meanwhile, today I also sold one of my embryo graphite drawings. I'm happy and sad. Click onto the HKIPP logo to see the letter.

>> TEMPTATIONS This is my debut appearance as an actor in a short film directed and produced by David Chow. Starring myself, Brandon Wan and Adam Lam, the three of us meet under the roof of my art studio where the characters slowly reveal their identities of fear, lust and passion. This is being shown at this year's Hong Kong Lesbian & Gay Film Festival (2003) under the screening of ASIAN VOICES.

>> WEST EAST MAGAZINE Who would have thought that my mom and dad would be featured in some hip stylish international fashion magazine? Well, it has happened. Writer Reggie Ho approached me with the idea and the idea went into print. With the modern comforts of the internet and netmeeting, my mom living in Saskatoon was able to relate her story to Reggie here in Hong Kong to tell about how she managed a small cafe while tending to 4 children in the harsh Canadian prairies.
