Originally, the painting began in 2016, but was left untouched in the studio. I hit a block and didn’t know where to proceed. Then shortly after painting the first Le tourbillon de la vie, I pulled out the unfinished piece and completed the piece in a matter of a few days. Heavy, bold brushstrokes showed a new vitality in me as I began making instinctual marks and gestures. There is an intense freedom of expression and movement being conveyed, mirroring the recent life situations of the most challenging kind.
