Windows of Memory

Patches of colour in a field of soft pastels — these works are the physical manifestation of listening to impressionistic music compositions that evoke a deep sense of peace and serenity. They were born out of a need to find stillness within the relentless pace of city life, where the senses are perpetually overwhelmed.

Each painting begins with patches of colour laid down as an under layer, subsequently covered by another layer of varying shades, predominantly in pastel. The result is a quiet depth — a surface that subtle and nuanced.
